We obtain certain personal information about you from sources outside our business which may include other third-party companies or affiliates, including universities, colleges, schools, organisations working with universities, colleges and schools, official student funding. We may offer some of our services on or through other websites or apps and the personal information that you provide to those sites may be sent to us in order to deliver the service.

The personal information we receive from third party sources, such as a university, college or school or any organisation working with such university, college or school may include your name, email address, the course you are enrolled on and the names of the modules you are studying, the module leader or teacher and other relevant information that the university, college or school may send to us.

Links to other websites or apps

Our websites or app may, from time to time, contain links to other websites or apps which may be of interest to you. If you follow a link, please note that the other website or app will have its own privacy policy, and you should check this before you submit any personal information to that website or app. We are not responsible for the content of other websites or apps or their use of your personal information.

Where do we store your personal information and how it is kept secure?

Some of the information you provide to us will be transmitted electronically, e.g. information provided via our website or app or by email. We would remind you that information transmitted via the internet is not completely secure and although we will do our best to protect any information transmitted in this way, we cannot guarantee its complete security.

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data being accidentally lost, accessed or used in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers located in the European Economic Area. No information you provide to us is transferred to or stored at, a destination outside the EEA.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

Who do we share your personal information with?

We may disclose your personal information to third parties if we are under a duty to disclose or share it in order to comply with any legal obligation (for example our college partners, auditors, our insurers and HMRC) or with your consent. 

We may also disclose your personal information to sub-contractors working on our behalf, who are bound by the terms of this privacy policy.

We may also share data with college partners and in turn they share with the Department for Education and funding agencies for statistical purposes. 

How long do we keep your personal information?

We will keep your personal information for the following periods of time:

  • Information submitted via website form which does not lead to instructions to provide our services. Information kept for twelve months.

  • Contact by any other means (e.g. email or telephone) which does not lead to instructions to provide our services Information kept for twelve months.

  • When added to our marketing database Information kept for the duration of your consent (to be deleted upon consent being withdrawn).

  • In the course of providing our services Information usually kept for seven years from the closure of the matter unless we inform you otherwise

If you have given your consent to anything we do with your personal data, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time (although if you do so, it does not mean that anything we have done with your personal data with your consent up to that point is unlawful).   • We usually act on requests and provide information free of charge, but may charge a reasonable fee to cover our administrative costs of providing the information for:
    • baseless or excessive/repeated requests,

    • or further copies of the same information.
Alternatively, we may be entitled to refuse to act on the request.

Please consider your request responsibly before submitting it. We’ll respond as soon as we can. Generally, this will be within one month from when we receive your request but, if the request is going to take longer to deal with, we’ll come back to you and let you know.

Unsubscribing from communications
